Visitors to Paris are familiar with the Champs Elysées — the broad, tree-lined boulevard connecting the Place de la Concorde and Arc de Triomphe — and all the fashionable streets that lead from it, including Avenue George V. This Art Deco hotel has welcomed sophisticates since 1929 and reopened after a total renovation in 2013. Curvaceous lines, Makassar ebony and mosaic designs mark its neo-Art Deco interior, where corridors lined with an impressive collection of photography from Vogue, published during the era, lead to 116 rooms and 43 suites.

The newest, the Lalique Suite, launched in 2019, shortly before the COVID-19 shutdown. As interpreted by German designer Patrick Hellman, the Lalique Suite showcases one-of-a-kind pieces, including iconic glass panels and the Seville Chandelier, as well as amazing views of Sacré Coeur. Réné Lalique (1860–1945) may have been born in the small city of Ay, in the Champagne region, but his name became famous worldwide for glass art creations, from glorious perfume bottles, chandeliers and vases to automotive hood ornaments. Today, Lalique extends to a luxury lifestyle brand that includes decorative objects and interior design.

The hotel also offers a fitness room and an exquisite Olivier Lecocq Wellness Suite, where the duo treatment room is ringed by mosaic-clad walls in the dressing room, shower and hammam. Bar 1920, which boasts an impressive cognac collection, also serves breakfast and small meals, and Akira, the new restaurant, will soon open behind the flower-filled lobby.
